To enhance efficiencies and ensure optimum safety in metal working activities in all sectors, industrial equipment supplier BMG’s Tools and Equipment division has extended its range of Jasic laser equipment.

BMG Tools and Equipment division business unit manager Andrew Johns explains that laser welding, cutting and cleaning equipment are “relatively new” to the welding industry, adding that the Jasic 3-in-1 handheld laser welding machines are designed to safely perform these tasks.

“These versatile machines offer quick, dependable and cost-effective performance, reducing the need for post-weld treatments,” Johns adds.

Additionally, the compact machines also ensure a smaller footprint in comparison to traditional metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welders.

Moreover, Johns highlights that Jasic’s advanced laser welding technology is known for precise welding with minimal heat-affected zones, resulting in stronger and neater welds, with less distortion.

BMG’s range of Jasic welding equipment also includes arc inverter welders, TIG and MIG welders and plasma cutters.

The portfolio comprises 140 A to 630 A manual metal arc (MMA) welders, 200 A to 400 A TIG inverters, water cooled pulse units, 200 A to 400 A alternating and direct current TIG units and 250 A to 500 A MIG/metal active gas inverters and dual-pulse water cooled units.

The plasma cutters range from a single-phase 45 A hand-held unit to a three-phase 160 A cutting inverter that can cut up to 50 mm. Additionally, the plasma cutters are also available with computer numerical control capabilities.

Johns notes that all the Jasic components are subjected to rigorous testing, including vibration and drop, waterproof, safety, comprehensive parameter and electromagnetic compatibility tests, as well as harmonic wave and flicker testing.

This is further supported by BMG, which provides a comprehensive three-year warranty with its Jasic industrial products.

Moreover, the company’s portfolio of welding-related products comprises a variety of inverter welders, accessories, electrodes, welding wire and personal protection equipment (PPE).

Safety Focus

“BMG is committed to assisting industry in creating a healthy, clean and safe environment for welding procedures through the supply of the latest equipment and advanced technologies, which is supported by technical expertise,” states Johns.

He emphasises that BMG’s welding products and services are tailored to meet specific customer requirements and are designed to reduce risks associated with welding and cutting fumes, grinding dust and oil mist.

BMG’s specialists encourage businesses to be mindful about the hazards of welding fumes and how important it is to protect workers’ health through the extraction and control of fumes.

Airborne welding fumes are a mixture of metal fumes and gases produced during welding operations that are harmful to workers. Toxic welding fumes can contain a mixture of manganese, chromium VI, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and ozone – which cause serious health problems.

Moreover, Johns points out that BMG’s offering encompasses dependable welding and cutting processes, fume extraction and filtration systems, as well as PPE, safety equipment and general accessories.

He suggests that factors that should be taken into careful consideration include the choosing of the correct welding process and equipment based on the materials and their thickness.

BMG’s specialists work closely with every customer to ensure the selection of the correct equipment and enable appropriate and safe use of each system.
